A Little Style.com-ing...

I'm feeling lazy and seeing as up until about 2 weeks ago I hadn't had enough to inhale let alone enjoy my fav Style.com updates I am now taking the opportunity to lay like a lizard and scroll through the best of Fall 2011.

I have never been much of a Valentino fan. That's not to say that I don't have an extraordinary amount of respect for both the man and the brand. There just seems to be something in the Valentino water now that Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli have come on board.

A few of my particular favourites...

And the ones that I will be dreaming about one day being heavy enough in the pockets to own are...

With a little fur underneath this baby would make me a happy Canadian-winter 'camper'!

'Tis The Season...

In order to save my own sanity - packing is unsurprisingly difficult both mentally AND physically - I have began tackling Christmas present making and wrapping. As much as I love to spend money on myself there's something overwhelmingly exciting and satisfying about deciding on a gift for someone (having the money to pay for that gift) and then making it all pretty-like. I'm definitely a fan of indulging my creative license when it comes to wrapping.

Before the looming list of Christmas gift-ee's appeared I had a little practice run in the 'presentation' department with my sister's birthday in early November. The present itself was not so surprising seeing as she was there when I bought it but I like to think that my wrapping and the accompaniment of some unexpected tasty and appropriately celebratory treats picked up my slack...

Granted I cannot take credit for the card (thank you Zetta Florence) but I'm just a little bit proud of my ability to co-ordinate.

Red Velvet with cream cheese icing and mini chocolate-on-chocolate... YUM! Don't judge me but I may have been the culprit that polished off all the mini cupcakes before my sister could genuinely get her hands on any.

Wicked candle selection too, if I do say so myself.

As of more recent procrastination, my sister and brother-in-law's Christmas presents have been completed and are ready to be 'given'. Fingers crossed they are deemed worthy of display in their new house...

Never Forget To Be Inspired...

Thank god for my gigantic list of blogs on Bloglovin'! I have been having miniature moments of panic as a result of my looming lack of enthusiasm since finishing uni. It's times like these that I cherish those times of overwhelming motivation. Boredom genuinely frightens me which I believe may be a good thing as it tends to keep me out of the 'only-boring-people-get-bored' category. Anywho, tonight it seems The Selby delivers again! In partnership with Zara, The Selby has simply wooed me with a short film documenting the wonderful world of Lucy Chadwick - artist and all around cool bean... She's has some pretty rocking style both in home and on body and, just quietly, I am more inspired than ever to get my hands dirty. Building her own little hide-away (and by 'building' I truly mean BUILDING) in upstate New York, a quiet nook of ones own making really does look like the way to go. Again I pity my skills at posting so alas no pretty film on this page. Instead, a charming if not less appealing link will take you (whoever 'you' are) where I so thoroughly enjoyed going...

Mint and Vanilla...

I posted about the Vanilla Scented a while back and it's still one of the blogs I get most excited to investigate. Aside from the beautiful and simplistic photographs, I'm a big fan of any personal style blog that chooses NOT to indulge in over-posting. Self-obsession isn't an attractive element of the blogging world for me - unless of course your name is Leandra Medine of Man Repeller seeing as the girl has an insane sense of humor about herself and fashion in general. In attempt to reinvigorate a perpetuating appreciation for Vanilla Scented here is today's numero 1 image - clean, simple, comfortable and cool... If only I could pull this off...

Fascination Central...

I have seen this short film before and re-watched it a number of time purely because I am both seriously fascinated by the boundless skills of some artistic folk but also because the 'process' (thanks uni for ruining that word for me FOREVER) is mesmerizing... I may have only left my creative safety net a little over 24hrs ago but I'm keeping the spirit alive!
