Mint and Vanilla...

I posted about the Vanilla Scented a while back and it's still one of the blogs I get most excited to investigate. Aside from the beautiful and simplistic photographs, I'm a big fan of any personal style blog that chooses NOT to indulge in over-posting. Self-obsession isn't an attractive element of the blogging world for me - unless of course your name is Leandra Medine of Man Repeller seeing as the girl has an insane sense of humor about herself and fashion in general. In attempt to reinvigorate a perpetuating appreciation for Vanilla Scented here is today's numero 1 image - clean, simple, comfortable and cool... If only I could pull this off...

Fascination Central...

I have seen this short film before and re-watched it a number of time purely because I am both seriously fascinated by the boundless skills of some artistic folk but also because the 'process' (thanks uni for ruining that word for me FOREVER) is mesmerizing... I may have only left my creative safety net a little over 24hrs ago but I'm keeping the spirit alive!

The Only Way to Survive Writing a Thesis...

Is to buy yourself presents apparently... And the rings that I purchased from www.sdmariejewelry.etsy.com for myself (although arriving after I had handed my thesis in) really did the job! AND the best thing of all, besides their awesome-ness is that I could actually afford them and on a students budget that's a pretty special thing. Check out SD Marie Jewelry...

P.S. I know I just said that these are both seriously cute and seriously affordable but I would also like to mention that anything that comes in a mini brown box with kitchen string bows is more often than not something worth having!

Getting My Master Chef On...

Last night a friend and I decided it was time to eat in for a change - we are both in desperate need for coin! Anywho, we made turkey burgers and homemade ice cream sandwich's... So much for trying to eat healthy. And just quietly, both were DELICIOUS!!! Tip #1: mix seeded mustard into the burger pattie mix, it's EPIC. Tip #2:Chocolate chip cookies with boysenberry ice cream is a mind blowing combination.

"Always be Knolling" - Tom Sachs

This guy has just inspired the hell out of me! His need for organization, his willingness to leave imperfections, his pursuit of his own creative concoctions.  I resonated most with his mention of utilizing the time during production as a time to reflect on what your doing and how your doing it and perhaps endeavouring to think up what comes next as well as the fact that he finds that there is never enough time to just produce what he creates. I feel relieved and satisfied but also a little antsy to work on my own stuff after watching that... Just what I so desperately needed.

Up and Coming...

I had a meeting with a makeup artist - who also happens to be a friend of mine - on Sunday about a photo shoot she's planning. I couldn't be more excited about this styling gig!! The theme is right up my alley and to add my wild anticipation I happened upon the most amazing tattoo that I'm thinking of using to start my sleeve.... Don't tell me parents!! The tattoo is by an tattoo artist Angelique Houtkamp from Amsterdam. 

Hold your breath for this beauty...

I love these two as well but I feel I'd love them on my wall more than my skin.
